Mt 12-13 Supplement on Mysteries of Messiah's Millennial Kingdom Pt 1c                                                                                                                              ©2020 WF Cobb Truthbase.net DailyTruthbase.blogspot

I. The Gospels open with John the Baptist (quoting Isa 40 ~10) announcing the Good News (gospel Isa 41:27) of the imminent (at hand) OT promised Kingdom, in which the Messiah would rule over a regathered Israel in the Promised Land, fulfilling covenant promises to the Patriarchs.

Mt 9:9 call 29 open eyes; 10:7 send 'Kgdm near' 34 sword 38 call to be worthy-rewarded; 11:14 Jn in prison=Elijah; 20 rebuke unrepentant ppl/cities

Mt 12:2 Your disciples do...not lawful on the Sabbath! 3 Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: 5 Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless? 6 Yet I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple.8 For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.

10 Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath? --- that they might accuse Him. 14 Pharisees plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.

A. Jews/Believers who resist/explain away the convicting work of HS (Jn 16) remain out of fllshp in the sphere of the unforgiven (Heb 6)

15 healed all 18 (Isa 42) Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He will declare justice to the Gentiles. 20...He sends forth justice to victory; 21 And in His name Gentiles will trust

23 the multitudes were amazed; Could this be the Son of David? 24 fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.

31 every sin forgiven...blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

39 evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign...except the sign of the prophet Jonah.41 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, greater than Jonah 42 The queen of the south...greater than Solomon is here.

B. Forgiven Atonement Jews/believers remaining unrepentant in spite of the HS authentication heap up punishment and disinheritance

43 When unclean spirit goes out of man...seeking rest, and finds none. 45 takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation

C. Family 49 disciples=My mother & brothers! 50 whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother

II. God gives insight to receptive hearts {understand-repent-teach-reap} re unrevealed truths about the rejected Kingdom

Sun-'iemi (put/send together) Mt 6:52 walk on water...not understand...'cse heart hardened re loaves cf 8:17; Acts 28:27 close eyes (active)

 13:11 Why parables? given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, 13 seeing they do not see, and hearing do not hear, nor do they understand 15 hearts of this people have grown dull...their eyes they have closed, lest they should understand put together with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.' 16 But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;

A. 13:8 hear the parable of the Sower: 19 hears the word of the kingdom, does not understand it..wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. 20 receives it with joy; 21 rocky..no root in himself (Col 1:7), but endures only for a while; tribulation 'cse of the word=stumbles. 22 thorns...cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful (2Pt1)

23 hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."

B. 13:24 The KotHs is like a man who Sowed Good Seed in his field  25 enemy Sowed Tares among the wheat 36 Explain 37 He who sows the good seed=Son of Man. 38 field=world, good seeds=sons of the kingdom, tares=sons of the wicked one. 39 enemy= devil, harvest=end of the age, reapers=angels. 40 as tares are gathered-burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into the furnace (not lake) of fire 1Cor 3. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth v50*. 43 Then the righteous will shine as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear={call to discipleship} (Israel)

C. 31 tKotHs like Mustard Seed 32 least of all the seeds...tree, so that the birds of the air come (localized Israel provides shelter for all)

D. 33 tKotHs like Leaven, which a woman took and hid all leavened.  (pervasive universal message of Church)

35 fulfilled...spoken by the prophet: open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.

E. 44 tKotHs Treasure hidden in a field, a man found and hid; for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. (Israel)

F. 45 tKotHs Merchant seeking beautiful Pearls, 46 found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it. (Church)

G. 47 tKotHs Dragnet cast into sea gathered some of every kind 48 gathered good into vessels, threw the bad away. 49 So it will be at the end of the age. angels will separate the wicked from among the just, 50 and cast them into the furnace (not lake) of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. *fate of unprofitable-unfaithful servants in outer darkness in Kingdom -Mt 25:30; 8:12; 22:13; 24:51; Lk 13:28

III. Rejected by both Establishment and Family Mt 13:55 Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? 56 And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?" 57 So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house."  58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
