Jude 11d Korah: Rebellion Against God's Authority Num16  Part 2

2019 WF Cobb Truthbase.net DailyTruthbase.blogspot

I. Bad leaders/believers serve self rather than the Savior and His Body (cf Eph 4)

II. Rebellion and lies (esp false accusations) are signs of satanic influence/enslavement as are persistent unsanctified values

III. Sacrificial servant leadership is forged thru: Aspiration, Preparation/Qualification, Authentication (vs subjective “calling/anointing

IV. God fights battles for His faithful servants   Ps 41:11 know God pleased with me  'cse enemy does not triumph over me..uphold in integrity

V. Rebels rewrite history with lies, blaming others leaders for their own sins/failures/state rather than taking individual responsibility

VI. Anger is a just response to demonic sin/rebellion but one's first response must be to seek the Lord and His will

15 Moses was very angry, and said to the LORD:Do not respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, nor have I hurt one of them 16 Moses said to Korah, "Tomorrow, you and all your company be present before the LORD  as well as Aaron. 19  Korah gathered all the congregation against them at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. Then the glory of the LORD appeared to all the congregation. 20 LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron: 21 Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment 22  they fell on their faces, and said, "O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and You be angry with all the congregation? 23 So the LORD spoke to Moses, 24 "Speak to the congregation, saying, 'Get away from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.' 25 Moses rose and went to Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him. 26 saying, "Depart now from the tents of these wicked men! Touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins." 27 So they got away from around the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram; and Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the door of their tents, with their wives, sons, and their little children.

2Cor 6:14...what communion has righteousness with lawlessness? what participation has light with darkness? 15 what sharing has the believing with the unbelieving? 16 what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people  17 Come out from among them and be separate

1Jn 1:7 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.

APP Separate from sinning believers (1Cor 5)//teachers (2Jn 11) or you'll share in their consequences because they have rejected the Lord v30

VII. God acts on behalf of His faithful humble servants (not my will, but Thine) against the disobedient religious

28 Moses: By this you shall know  the LORD has sent me to do all these works, I have not done them of my own will 29 If these men die naturally...then LORD has not sent me 30 But if  LORD creates a new thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men have rejected the LORD" 31 as he finished speaking all these words, that the ground split apart under them, 32 the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the men with Korah, with all their goods. 33 So they and all those with them went down alive into the pit; the earth closed over them, and they perished from among the assembly.

Heb 10:30  we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people." 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Dt 32:35-36 28 they are a nation void of counsel, Nor is there any understanding-discernment  them. 29  Oh, that they were wise, that they understood this, That they would consider/comprehend their latter end! Cf 32:15

VIII. God wants us to remember that rebellion and presumption (we know better than God's Word) lead to soul suicide

34 all Israel around them fled "Lest the earth swallow us up also!" 35  fire came out from the LORD and consumed 250 men who were offering incense. 37 "Tell Eleazar to pick up the censers out of the blaze, for they are holy...38 men who sinned against their own souls, made into hammered plates as a covering for the altar. they are holy; shall be a sign to Israel 40 memorial  that no outsider, who is not a descendant of Aaron...offer incense before the LORD, not become like Korah and his companions, just as the LORD had said thru Moses.

Heb 5:13 infant, is unskilled re word righteousness....mature, who by habit have trained their mind/senses to discern good from evil

APP reflecting vs suppressing the past helps prevent us from repeating it. What's the source of what you don't like in your life?

IX. Immature and deceived believers lack discernment and are blinded to both their own sin and reality

41  next day all the congregation complained cx Moses and Aaron,, "You have killed the people of the LORD." 42 congregation gathered against Moses and Aaron, that they turned toward the tabernacle of meeting; suddenly cloud covered it, the glory of the LORD appeared.

Ps 36:1 message from God in my heart re the sinfulness of the wicked (know-no do): There is no fear of God before their eyes. 2 In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin. 3 The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good. 4 Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.

APP: Ignorance is no excuse 'cse the HS works to convict of sin/right/judge & to guide in all truth -Phil 2:13.  Are you conscious of God's pleasure? Self-reflection (why conseq?); test for truth cf Bible.  Blinded by guilt,we/blame to preserve our fragile/fractured ego/self worth

X. Servant leaders suffering abuse, must get grace to seek the best interest of the stupid sheep who continually rebel

43 Then Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of meeting. 45 "Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment." And they fell on their faces. 46 Moses said to Aaron, "Take a censer and put fire...incense on it, quickly to the congregation  make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from the LORD. The plague has begun." 47 Aaron did as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the assembly; already the plague had begun among the people. So he put in the incense and made atonement for the people

48 And he stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped. 49 Now those who died in the plague were 14,700 besides those who died in the Korah incident. 50 So Aaron returned to Moses at the door of the tabernacle of meeting, for the plague had stopped.

APP: If we don't work to develop discernment (Proverbs),  by default we're deceived. Oral tradition doesn't transform nor renew minds Rm The herd is headed to slaughter. The Broadway goes downhill to hell; a narrow stairway goes to heaven. Mt 7 :14 only a few find it.
